With so many results, permutations and lots to do between the last races of the season and prior to handing out the awards at the gala dinner it is very easy to overlook a trophy or two especially when they have not returned from Afghanistan or been included by the supplier in the first place!

Despite the absence of the trophy let's not take away the achievement of Andrew Foster and Jason Peacock in Trademymotor.

Not only a clean sweep of maximum points for Rounds 9 & 10 at Fistral from the ZCR50X class whilst heading off challenges from Exe Jets, Bluesheets I and Angry Hornet for the GP win.

The rest of their season has also reaped rewards but we wanted to address this oversight immediately and publicly and to give them the recognition they rightly deserve.

With the final two rounds of the 2011 Zapcat Championships rapidly approaching, the outcome of all the trophies will be down to more than likely the deciding finals on Saturday afternoon on Fistral Beach, Newquay, Cornwall.

With two new weight class (ZCR50 & ZCR50X) winners to be crowned along with the Team, Rookie, Surf, Celtic and Mixed Championships as well as the Newquay Grand Prix title as well it is certainly going to throw up some decisions for teams on how they approach each qualifying heat race and finals on Friday and Saturday.

That is if the conditions don't already decide it for them.  Will it be safe and smooth running or simply to throw caution to the wind in the surf?

Carry on for a summary of the leading teams in each class and trophy category..

With the upcoming final visit to Newquay it is time to look back over the season and be able to make an informed prediction, if at all possible when it comes to a surf event?

This time last year although they could not influence the final overall results it was father and son combination of Greg and Kieron Richardson in Team Suffolk who came away with the Grand Prix win and they are certainly set this year to challenge for that again as well as the ZCR50 National Championships title.

Bluesheets I are currently leading the title race but with the best pilot of the last three seasons sidelined from an injury picked up in the final at Barry Island, Craig Davis will be a very interested spectator as 2010 Rookie champion Jack Weller takes his place.

Standing alongside Craig will also be the pilot (Daren Ford) of Speedy Hire ...

Zapcat Racing returned to Whitmore Bay for the third year in a row thanks to the Vale of Glamorgan Council and assistance of everyone in Barry Island who helped to make this very popular venue and event happen once again.

For the Friday press day we were joined by Courtenay Hamilton (Miss Wales 2010) along with team Speedy Hire stand in pilot Justin Whithorn and co-pilot Kelly Allen with very flat and sunny conditions great for the gathered photographers who saw Courtenay co-pilot and pilot a Zapcat for the very first time.

“That was awesome, so amazing!” was heard quite a few times!
