After many years of practical testing, research and development by Gemini, we are proud to announce the next generation Zapcat, the EVO-1!

As you can imagine we are very excited by the arrival of this new hull in 2010, the improvements over the current Z-10 model are significant. Based on initial sales figures from South Africa it really is living up to the hype.

First and foremost, we appreciate there have been many questions and concerns regarding the introduction of this hull, therefore we wanted to take this opportunity to explain exactly what’s what.

The Gemini factory has said

that due to their improvements in production and manufacturing techniques, it is more cost effective for them to make the new EVO-1 hull rather than halt production, re-tool, source parts and manufacture the Z-10 model. As a result, Gemini has recently increased the buy in price of the Z-10 hull to virtually the same as the new EVO hull. We will of course continue to support the Z-10 model and as the sole distributor for UK & Europe we will import and sell both models.

The new Zapcat EVO performance class will be available for delivery to the UK in the second quarter 2010, subject to orders. We will not hold stock in the short term of either model when current Z-10 supplies in the UK run out, but Z-10's can still be included in future shipments.

The hull is longer than the Z-10 model however, slightly narrower, with a set of ‘tuned’ hijackers producing greater straight line speed and improved turning but not sacrificing the brand’s dominant performance and stability in the surf!

By using the latest construction techniques Gemini has delivered a more controlled, yet dynamic and thrilling ride at top speed. The new EVO-1 comes with a 2-piece floorboard that ensures improved strength, durability and stiffness.

Designed with performance levels that will leave other classes and manufacturers in your wake, the EVO-1 will remain a challenge for even the most skilled pilots in mastering the conditions and optimum set up.

New handling and trim / ride characteristics will allow you to push the boundaries. A new aerodynamic package ensures greater directional stability, with increased lift, delivering greater turning and improved cornering ability with the added bonus of reducing co-pilot wind resistance and drag through a more pronounced and raised nose cone!

This truly is one of the most advanced inflatable boats afloat, with many more colour combinations available too.
